Packing Size

How to Determine Packing Size

To determine the correct packing size for your application; subtract the shaft diameter from the inside diameter of the packing nut and multiply that result by .5



(Inside Diameter of Packing Nut - Shaft Diameter) x .5 =  Packing Size


For Example:

Inside Diameter Packing Nut: 1.75", Shaft Diameter: 1.25"

1.75 - 1.25= .5
.5 x .5= .25

Packing Size = .25 (or 1/4" packing)
